8 recipes for a cozy weekend at home 🍂

Hi Friends Reader

Is there anything better than a fall weekend with nowhere you have to be?

We’re having a rainy, cold Nor’easter this weekend, and I’m actually kind of loving it. It’s finally chilly enough to turn on the fireplace, curl up with a good book or watch a little too much Netflix, and of course, have something cozy cooking in the kitchen.

Honestly, I’m perfectly happy staying home.

So if you’re having one of those slow weekends too, I pulled together a little menu of recipes that feel just right for it, from a cozy breakfast and something sweet to bake, to the kind of comforting dinner you can look forward to all day.

START WITH A SLOW FALL MORNING 🥞

Pecan Glazed Pumpkin Pancakes
Fluffy pumpkin pancakes topped with warm, buttery glazed pecans. Make the coffee, stay in your pajamas a little longer and call it breakfast.

BAKE SOMETHING WHILE YOU’RE HOME 🍁

Maple Pecan Sweet Potato Bread
This one makes the whole kitchen smell like fall. It’s moist, warmly spiced and finished with sweet, sticky maple pecans. Make a loaf in the afternoon and save a slice for tomorrow morning.

OR GO FULL FALL WITH APPLE CIDER 🍎

Baked Apple Cider Donuts
Soft, cinnamon-y apple cider donuts without the trip to the orchard—or the fryer. These are gluten-free, baked and absolutely made for a cozy weekend.

And while we’re talking cider...

Apple Cider Punch
A big pitcher of this in the fridge just feels like fall. Pour yourself a glass while dinner cooks, or make it when you have friends stopping by.

FOR A COZY DINNER 🍲

If I’m home for the day, this is exactly when I want something simmering away while I do everything but stand over the stove.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast
Tender beef, carrots and potatoes slowly cooking together until everything is fall-apart tender. Start it earlier in the day and let the slow cooker do the rest.

Instant Pot Chili
For the kind of night when all you want is a big bowl of something warm and hearty. Add your favorite toppings, grab a blanket and dinner is done.

AND TWO MORE FALL FAVORITES...

Butternut Squash Risotto
Creamy, comforting and exactly the kind of dinner I want when the temperature starts dropping.

Warm Farro Salad with Roasted Squash
For something a little lighter but still very much fall: hearty farro, roasted squash and all those warm, earthy flavors I start craving this time of year.

I hope you find something here that makes you want to slow down, stay home and cook something really good this weekend.

And if you make one of these recipes, hit reply and tell me what you made. I always love hearing what’s cooking in your kitchen.

Have a cozy weekend 🍂

Meet my newest recipe: Gochujang Scallop Pasta with Roasted Vegetables The scallops cook straight from frozen in about 10 minutes, and...

My newest chicken recipe might be my best yet

Hi Friends Reader Okay, I may have a new favorite roasted chicken. I’ve made this Hot Honey Roasted Chicken THREE times this week, partly because I was testing and perfecting the recipe, but also because it is just that good. Sticky. Spicy. Crispy. Savory. A little sweet. And absolutely loaded with flavor. Hot Honey Roasted Chicken The chicken is seasoned with a buttery blend of herbs and spices, roasted until beautifully golden, then finished with hot honey and chili crunch for the most...
